Technical Specifications

  • These magnets are all new, directly from the manufacturer, however, they have been cut from a larger block and it is not unusual for the edges to have chips and nibbles or for there to be patches of discolouration. This does not affect the either the power or performance of the magnets
  • Length: 19.5 mm (0.76")
  • Width: 9.5 mm (0.37")
  • Thickness: 6.5 mm (0.26")
  • Axially Magnetised through the thickness so that one 19.5x9.5mm face is north, the other is south
  • Weight: 5.9g
  • Grade: C8
  • Coating: None
  • Maximum Temp: 250°C / 482°F
  • Theoretical Maximum Pull: 0.8lb / 13oz / 381g
  • Calculated Max Vertical Hold-guidance only: 0.16lb / 2.6oz / 76g
    • Unsuitable for children under 8
    • Brittle, do not drop; do not allow these magnets to jump together or to an iron/steel surface - they will break, crack, chip or shatter.
    • Resultant chips and flakes will be sharp
    • Risk of finger pinching
    • Health and safety leaflet included with every purchase

Like all ferrite magnets, these offer excellent value for money when pull strength is not the most important factor. They have a high resistance to corrosion and demagnetisation, and can operate at higher temperatures. They are most usually used for motors, but they are also superb for crafting purposes and for holding fire surrounds on gas fires as well as other DIY and MRO applications

The pull is calculated using a mathematical formula and is, therefore, the theoretical maximum hold between one magnet and a mild steel plate. It does not take account of manufacturing tolerances, plating, plating thickness or variances in a mild steel plate. The vertical hold is based upon the calculated pull and is, therefore, only for guidance. Factors such as paint thickness, plasticised surfaces, movement and vibration are not taken into account.

If being used for crafting, these magnets are suitable for the following applications:

  • images
  • moulding clay
  • wood
  • plastic
  • and other craft and educational projects.

WARNING: We would not recommend this magnet be used by children under 3, and not by children under 5 without supervision - choking hazard
