Royal Mail have recently introduced a new list of items which are restricted or prohibited from being posted using their services.
All our magnets are over packaged to ensure compliance with the IATA regulations for safe transport by air. These regulations require no more than 1° of compass deflection at 1 metre distance from the package containing the magnets.
The Royal Mail prohibited list specifically states that magnets should have a field strength which is less than 0.159A/m (0.002 gauss) at a distance of 2.1metres (7 feet) from the outside of the package. Even our strongest magnets, which are packed in steel shielded boxes, easily comply with this requirement.
The Royal Mail restricted list states that magnets “Should be wrapped in soft packaging at least 2cm (3/4″) thick around each item. The sender’s name and address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.” We are delighted to confirm that, unlike some suppliers, all our packages comply with this requirement.
